## The story of The Lab in the Bag

It all starts with a field observation.

 At the helm of [**Repères**](https://www.reperes.eu/) , a French market research company, François Abiven observes that his clients - innovators, marketing teams, sensory experts - regularly face the same difficulty: to reliably test products outside of a fixed laboratory, without increasing logistical constraints.

 Faced with this still largely unmet need, Repères' R&D teams developed a [**portable laboratory**](/#section-aaa0635-o) concept in 2014: transportable sensory booths designed to allow testing to be carried out as close as possible to the contexts of use.

 **The Lab in the Bag** was thus launched.

 Three years later, in a move to accelerate and structure the project, Jacques-Henry Pinhas joined the adventure alongside François Abiven. Together, they broadened the scope of the project: moving beyond cabin testing to fully integrate the influence of the context.

 In 2018, the arrival of Pierre Rossi marked a turning point in this evolution. He played a central role in the development of immersive devices, structuring and accelerating work around the integration of context into sensory analysis.

 Indeed, sensory experience is not limited to a neutral environment; it is closely linked to the conditions in which it is experienced.

 This conviction led to two years of research and development, culminating in the creation of [**The Room for the Senses**](/solutions-immersives-the-room-for-the-senses) , the first multisensory immersive room designed to reproduce realistic environments and enrich the analysis of perceptions.

The Lab in the Bag range is fully modular. The accessories and options below allow you to customize each workstation according to your research protocols.

## Standard light kit

The standard light kit (1 color) allows you to control the lighting in the sensory analysis station. Supplied with a dimmer switch, it can be installed on all booths of our range.

## Multi-light kit

The multi-light kit allows for precise adjustment of the color and temperature of the lighting in the workstation, ideal for visual and color assessment tests. 16 million colors are accessible via the included remote control. Up to 6 kits can be connected and controlled by a single remote.

## Operator call

The call indicator is an LED light device designed to effectively signal to the operator the end of a test or a request for assistance. Compact and robust, it is activated by a simple switch and integrates discreetly into the booth.

The transportation bag ensures easier mobility and simple storage of your test booths and accessories. Designed for frequent travel, it protects the equipment thanks to its padded inner lining and rigid base.

## Mobile video mirror

The mobile video mirror is a one-way mirror equipped with a Wi-Fi camera (recordable with sound and images), a microphone/speaker, and multi-colored, adjustable LED lights. A tablet with a dedicated app for remote control and recording is included.

- Can be mounted on the wall or in a The Lab in the Bag booth.
- It is distinguished by its ease of use and light weight.
